If you have wanted to check some common Windows commands relating to IPs but are too afraid of using the command line then HoverIP is a user friendly alternative. Packed inside the small download there are various network related tools like NSLOOKUP, PING.Etc. It can also display your currently used port along with their purpose. HoverIP worked pretty well except for those times when it hanged when performing a task. Unfortunately it is not portable which is a real shame because it seemed a nice application to keep in my pendrive. In conclusion HoverIP can provide a decent alternative if you want to use IP related commands. Available for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP.

I came across Hover years ago. Unfortunately, it has been at release 1.0 beta for that entire time.
looks like a good program. But if you are afraid of using the command line, you really shoundn't do anything more complicated with a computer than using standard applications
